I was up at 3am this morning, very excited as we leave for Egypt today. I packed the Micra and drove over to Andrew's house for 4.30am. At 5am we started the drive to Manchester airport, it's a really wet windy and nasty morning, but we will be in the sunshine soon!
We reached the airport at about 7am and did all the check in the baggage etc, drank yet more coffee and checked out the duty free. Boarded at 9am and we are off at last - I've been up 6 hours already. The flight was late but uneventful. The plane stopped at Athens to re fuel, then flew on to Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. There were coaches awaiting us to take us to the Aegean 1 - our home for the next 10 nights.
The ship was lit up with fairy lights and looked really pretty, we could see it all white and shining in the distance. We boarded at about 7pm. We found our cabin, two single beds oh no! We freshened up and went to find dinner, this was a buffet as the plane was late arriving. The food was fine and we decided to have a walk around the decks afterwards to explore the ship. There was a meeting in the lounge to tell us about tomorrow's excursions, there are normally 2 - 4 per day, but of course we could only choose one, we booked the Burning Bush outing and went to bed.
