We decided to go to Chatuchak Market today, it has over 6,000 stalls. Discovered that we could get there on the Sky Train so a taxi took us to the station. The Sky train is really cool. Obviously its high, good views of Bangkok spread below you, it's also air conditioned and extremely clean, and cheap to use, no traffic jams to worry about either.
We really enjoyed our day at this market, walked all day with a stop for a drink and a chat to a nice Canadian couple, they'd bought some monkey nuts and a little stray cat was eating them. Later we had an excellent lunch of pork and shrimp on toast, won ton soup and lime ice cream. Bought more prezzies for rellies. Found an amazing blue beaded scarf, I really wanted this so I haggled. Andrew usually haggles as he is so much better at it than I. Bought a fake Leopard bag to put all the extra's we've bought in. It's been a really fun day, we have been watered very thoroughly several times, some kids just attack with a hose pipe. They have strange plaster of Paris type stuff which they mix with water and smear all over peoples faces, it sets and doesn't feel very nice.
Caught the Sky train back, the taxi couldn't take us to hotel again so we ended up walking. Dumped the shopping back at the hotel and braved the outdoors again for dinner just over the road.
