Woke up late and after coffee and an excellent shower, Mary and Richard have
good taste, a Roca bathroom suite with Hansgroe taps, the same companies we have used
and imported over for our en suite at the Elms!
The Intrepid Explorers set off
to see down town Nerja. We park up and find the beach, a long leisurely stroll
takes us to Burriana
Beach where we find a cafe. Andrew samples Cruzcampo the local beer and I have the strangest cappuccino
ever, espresso served in a wine glass topped with aerosol cream, not as bad as
it sounds. We walked miles around Nerja, saw the tourist train {locals
call it the Wally Trolley, no we didn't use it - can't ruin the street cred. to
that extent! Stopped for a beer at a bar on Paseo Balcon de Europa,
which used to be a fort, but is now a pretty paved shopping area. Watched the
horses and coaches for a while, the horses have bells on their harnesses and
jingle when they trot, reminiscent of the Dr. Zhivago film. We bought a pretty cafetiere,
as I can't use the coffee maker at the villa and some Butterscotch Schnapps and
Baileys for decadent shooters {called cock sucking cowboys} that Lucy introduced me to in London. We found 2
amazing off licenses which we intend stocking up at before we leave, to add to
our cocktail making collection at home. Beware of Andrew's new hobby all friends
we haven't seen since our Thailand - Cambodia adventures! We drove back to the
villa for chilli, wine and shooters. Andrew watched hours of crap on TV - Simpson's,
Buffy and other unspeakably boring science fiction, I headed for the peace and quiet of a
bath, wine and a good book, and so to bed.
