We met up with Matt and Anna for breakfast, then having arranged to
have dinner later as they are off to arrange visa's, we go off exploring.
Bangkok is on first impressions dirty, exceedingly smelly,
mega hot and sticky, and so exotic. We visit the Golden Buddha and give him
offerings of lotus flowers and incense. Any Buddha's we visit have people with
flowers, incense and candles beside them, I think we would truly offend them if
we refused to take the offerings to give to their Buddha. We are shown how to
have our fortunes read by shaking sticks, both have stick 12 drop out so have
identical fortunes. We just wander and look, soaking up the atmosphere here, but
3pm sees us exhausted so we head back for a siesta, room successfully changed so
we can share a bed.
Meet up with Matt and Anna at 7.30pm and spend a few more happy hours
chatting and hearing some of their adventures, they leave for Singapore in the
morning so we won't see them till we are all home again. We went back out for a
stroll and a drink before bed as Matt and Anna still have to pack etc.
Bangkok is more peaceful late at night but still very hot, the intrepid
explorers will do some proper exploring tomorrow.
