Another lazy day as it is pouring with rain again, I joined Jennifer and Bernie for breakfast and heard that it is Bernie's birthday today. We needed to arrange some surprise for him!! We discussed what to do while Nick keeps Bernie busy. Jenny decided that she will cook dinner and we ask Cliff if the kitchen staff can rustle up a cake. Jenny shopped for food and the rest of us stayed in  the pub for drinks after lunch.

Today was spent much as yesterday with the exception of dinner of course, Jenny prepared vegetarian sausages and mash {she, Bernie, Jennifer and Jack are all veggies} dinner was good, we enjoyed it then repair to the pub for beer and Bernie's birthday cake, a cherry cake decorated with icing and a candle. It's rather undercooked and soggy but we all attempt to eat some, Nick, who will eat anything says he enjoyed it!

Jack's incessant singing a song where the only words he knows are Children, children, future, future helps in our decision to stay longer than usual this evening!  Eventually we headed back to the quarters for wine, beer and games for the remainder of the evening.
